I agree with you - ICANN has got us in a 'crooked' mess. But Greg is correct -
New.net is the wrong way to go. They are only concerned with the profit margin. Many
others are bound to go into competition with New.net - in 200+ countries. It will
depend on your browser plug-in / ISP as to which site you will go to. You will
also have e-mail arriving to the wrong people. Chaos is sure to come. The only
solution is to get rid of the unelected members of ICANN - they and their predecessors
are responsible for the 'crooked' mess we are in. Maybe then we will get a coherent
plan on how to run the Internet correctly.
