Many dot-net domains don't sound good in dot-web. For example:
1. hotel.web
-- who wants a sticky hotel, yuck!
2. motel.web -- ditto
3. bank.web
--- dittoOf course, some dot-web domains may make sense. For example:
1. media.web
-- MediaWeb [Many people already think that the media is a deceptive web already,
so no harm here.]
2. car.web CarWeb [Many people think lowly of car salesmen
already, so no harm here.]
3. spider.web -- SpiderWeb [A great domain for info
about spiders or even pest control.]
4. data.web --- DataWeb
5. computer.web
-- ComputerWeb
The foregoing might also make sense as directories [kind of like
dot-info].
Also, plurals in dot-web just don't make much sense. For example:
1.
hotels.web -- HotelsWeb ? No way!
2. motels.web -- MotelsWeb ? No way!
3. banks.web
--- BanksWeb ? No way!
4. cars.web ---- CarsWeb ? No way!
5. computers.web
-- ComputersWeb ? No way!
Dot-net is better: net means network.
Dot-info is
also better than dot-web.
Dot-com is even better: com means commercial or company
or community.
Dot-biz sounds so much like dot-sleeze [or dot-hardsell] as to be
somewhat a turnoff. Some dot-biz websites might make sense, but most will probably
be too commercial or in-your-face.
