As many recall from a few weeks ago, I mentioned the
lack of "glue" records (IP addresses for the respective name servers of a domain
name) issue regarding .BIZ and .INFO TLDs. Well, as of this moment, .BIZ domains
do not resolve from some ISPs since it appears the .BIZ name servers for "neulevel.biz",
"whois.biz", etc can't be resolved - and since the name servers are within .BIZ,
it becomes a cat mouse problem so to speak and ultimately for the end-user, they
won't be able reach the domains.Any business, etc that plans to use their .BIZ
domains or .INFO domains for anything critical, has BETTER BE DAMN SURE the respective
.BIZ and .INFO zones also contains the correct "glue" records for the respective
name servers or one can expect a small, but sizable percentage of their visitors
to get intermittent errors and not being able to get in.
So far Afilias, Neulevel,
and ICANN have been silent on this very serious issue...and that's surprising considering
the extreme security weaknesses that the lack of "glue" records presents to the Domain
Name System (DNS). Until the "glue" record deficiency is resolved, one would be wise
to either steer totally away from .BIZ and .INFO domains or at the minimum warehouse
domains in those TLDs and not use them.
Don't say you weren't warned...
