Response to new.net thread - tired of waiting |

[since posts old posts go downwards on this forum I never
got a chance to respond] New.net offers a chance for people to
get extensions besides .com. Most of us on the board (particularly those waiting
for .web) have been waiting for this for more than five years now. Given ICANN's
snail pace, it will take another 10 years for ICANN to sucessfully introduce one
decent tld. I think new.net will succeed because it is a pioneer in the domain names
market essentially going where ICANN has never gone before. It has also been successful
in providing a large segmanet of the internet access to its names.
If new.net doesn't
succeed and ICANN mantains its iron grip over the internet, we are in for one very
very long wait.
