Subject: eResolution says ICANNs UDRP is Corrupt

eResolution says ICANNs UDRP is Corrupt.

Or, to use their words, tilted from the outset.

eResolution, as you know, is one of ICANNs Uniform Domain Dispute Resolution Policy providers.

eResolution is quitting ICANNs UDRP.

They admit that they cannot compete with the corrupt United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO.org).

Even their own Canadian government went to UN WIPO - "while claiming unfailing support for Canadian know-how in e-commerce" - rather than them.

With 30 domain names - it was at much greater cost to Canadian taxpayers - but they stood better chance of winning.

"And that is how the market share of eResolution kept on shrinking to a point where the proceeds no longer covered the costs of maintaining the service."

Press release: eResolution leaves worldwide domain name dispute resolution behind.

A few quotes more from eResolution Press Release:

But the accreditation as provider of the World Intellectual Property Organization, a United Nations agency which contributed the draft of the UDRP and whose purpose is to enhance the protection of intellectual property, tilted the balance from the outset.

"Be that as it may, said Professor Karim Benyekhlef, eResolution's president, it is but an open secret that lawyers advising their clients in domain name cases have no scruples about quoting the figures and saying that the odds are better with a given provider.

*******

WIPO are the provider of choice, winning most cases for the 'prosecution' - they are obviously corrupt.

Usual disclaimer for the litigation mad and greedy lawyers: All is my considered and informed opinion. However, nobody has yet proved me wrong.

In the interests of balance: Corruption has yet to be proved in a court of Law.
