It is blatent that Afilias are incompetent at best and corrupt at worst, as you say. They clearly lie between the two, as anyone who followed the .info roll out will tell. I am sure they are much closer to corrupt than incompetent. It is obvious that there must be a lot of backward handshaking going on between Afilias and ICANN. In spite of the shockingly bad .info roll out, ICANN grants them another opportunity. The only time I have ever seen such open bare faced corruption is in the politics of some 3rd world countries. It is a disgrace.
