I challenged a Sunrise Name
(Finance.info) just to see how the process worked, and incase Afilias slipped up
- the name would not stay in the hands of the infamous artist known as 'Stephen Rumney.'
Now I have 10 days to register the domain with a trademark... Wish I could register
it with the following details: Trademark
Country: Universal Intellectual Property
Trademark Number: untrademarkable (generic)
I'm sure
one of the following 2 challengers of the domain name will have a 'legitimate' trademark
(*cough*) and register it. This Sunrise process has completely ignored the
rights of 'small' individuals in favor of the rights of corporations and their lawyers.
I am disgusted that corporations have a first-crack at these 'generic'
domains when almost all previous domain cases have not permitted trademarks to grab
such domains in other TLDs. Why does Afilias think it should ignore these precendents?
Neulevel's policy is much better in this regard.
...mutter, mutter, mutter...
