"I believe that we must ask ourselves the bigger question of how do we as part of
the registration authority industry (registrars and
registries) work together
to roll-out new service offerings to registrants given the symbiotic relationship
that exists between registrars and registries." Michael PalageYou could start
by asking how Afilias proposes to compensate the people who were robbed of millions
of dollars because of cheating or contract-abuse by companies like your own CEO's
DomainBank, who took $15000 to sponsor fraud Trademark claims at Sunrise.
Why do
you carry on pontificating, but never answer these very serious concerns about corruption
or abuse, carried out by that "symbiotic" relationship of registries and registrars.
Registrar
(Hal Lubsen's): Takes money to abuse the Afilias Sunrise procedure. Breaks the ICANN
contract and the regulations it sets out for registrars. Is meant to ensure there
is Trademark data in all four data fields. Submits 93 names with Trademark name:
NONE. Trademark country: NONE. Trademark date: NONE. Trademark number: NONE. Applies
for these Sunrise names in return for money, thereby resulting in the defrauding
of honest Landrush customers.
Registry (Hal Lubsen CEO): Arranges NOT to check
these applications. Grants these applications. Refuses to delete these applications,
even when requested to do so by original registrant to protect Landrush customers.
IS
THAT SYMBIOTIC ENOUGH FOR YOU?
Over 5000 fake names submitted in this way through
REGISTRARS run by Afilias executives and directors. This done in breach of contract.
These names then registered by REGISTRY.
Why do you run away from these very serious
charges, Michael? Why doesn't Hal dare to answer? These charges are true. They are
documented. How DARE you talk about symbiotic relationships when Afilias has evaded
these serious issues and failed to respond, accept accountability, take responsibility
for the loss caused to consumers?
The first, the primary, the essential issue to
address is the protection of the consumer, for whom you exist. All you at Afilias
have presided over the abuse of consumers, who have lost millions of dollars in the
.info roll-out because of the corrupt violations of your own contract, carried out
by people including your own executive and Board.
All this is well documented.
No
wonder your own Director, Robert Connelly, wanted to resign all interests and involvements
with Afilias at the earliest opportunity, and called the Sunrise "an abomination".
But
you choose to carry on, without responding in any way to these concerns, sent to
me by hundreds of defrauded consumers from all over the world. One poor man lost
$50000 because of the theft at Sunrise through fraudulent claims like the ones Hal
Lubsen's company submitted. In total the fraud runs into millions, reflected by the
scale of fraud sponsored by some registrars, such as the 4981 names applied for with
1899 TM dates by a single applicant, for which $500000 was taken by Speednames, represented
on the Afilias Board.
Now THAT'S a SYMBIOTIC relationship between Registry and
Registrar!
And you offer no defense.
