.museum is a sponsored domain operated by a nonprofit organization, so "making a
profit" is not one of their concerns. That TLD exists to serve its target constituency,
museum operators. But I guess some of the critics on this board are unable to wrap
their minds around the concept that not everybody involved with domain names is just
in it for the money, and that there are uses for domains other than speculation,
get-rich-quick schemes, cockamamie pseudo-portals attracting type-in traffic to content-free
websites, and overagressive intellectual property protection. There are still
people who are simply trying to give logical addresses to the things they're putting
on the Internet, whether for profit, not-for-profit, or for personal self-expression.
