I wish you luck Stephan, but I fear the senator will have no interest in helping you. I very much doubt he believes it to be relevant to his real agenda, which he probably has not expressed publicly. In fact I am sure being the DoC secretary he has many contacts and connections in industry who stand to benefit from abusing the system as it is, and he will be more than happy to ensure everything goes through smoothly for them. Still, it is always worth a try and I wish you the best of luck. I would be interested to hear the reply, if you get one.
