However, with the complicity of a registry, a fraudulent application is turned into
a fraudulent registration.Over how many days of Sunrise - was it ten - Afilias
processed 10,000 fraudulent applications - happy to take the money for five year
registrations 10,000 times? Hell, that's equivalent to 25,000 Landrush style
registrations of two years each.
I would guess that 2,000 or 3,000 of the 10,000
frauds that Afilias was happy to take money to Sunrise register were the same names
that drew the majority of Landrush preregistrations. Hundreds of these names
must have had thousands of Landrush preregistrations taken on each of them.
Thanks
to a self regulated domain business - we, if completely brainless - will have a second
or third chance to wast money preregistering them - when the names are "equitably"
returned to the public.
Thank god all the world doesn't behave as the worst registry
and their worst registrars did during the .info launch.
