Quote: Afilias' process to equitably redistribute successfully challenged Sunrise
names will utilize a randomized, round robin name selection method, similar to the
one used in the initial public launch of .INFO. This method randomizes the queue
(or batch) of names submitted by each registrar, and then assigns a random order
to pick names from each of the registrars' queues.http://www.afilias.info/news/press_releases/pr_articles/2002-02-18-01
This
round robin method is open to abuse - why do I have this feeling that it will be?
Given
that they have completely failed to do the right thing in the past - it is too late
now to do anything else - the only fair method is to have one queue for each
domain.
All registrar registrations for science.info in one hat, all registrar
registrations for hawaii.info in another hat etc.
Not the ideal solution, I know
- but best under the circumstances.
