Relationship between Microsoft .Net and Domain Names? |

I am not an expert on what Microsoft is planning with their .Net venture, but in
my gut I wonder what the relationship will be, if any, between what Microsoft does
with .Net and the current domain name system. Is there little potential relationship?
Or might the .Net venture eventually be a way to supercede aspects of the current
domain name system? I'd be interested in what those of you who are more technically
knowledgeable think about this.
