With all due respect to .biz and .info domain holders, Afilias and Neulevel have
already shredded what they agreed to in their application regarding funding any marketing/advertising
programs. Why would you think they would spend resources to develop a .biz
or .info search engine? It is a totally wonderful idea, Greg, that would promote
the TLD, but I think you and I both know what is going to happen here. How
much money did Afilias or Neulevel promise they would spend to market these TLDs?
How much have they spent outside those irritating pop-up windows? Do you think
there is a valid marketing blitz occurring?
It isn't happening. We're talking
about 1-million new registrations between .biz and .info. That is roughly a
total annual windfall to Afilias and Neulevel of $35 million, more than enough to
pay their salaries and ICANN's 'protection money'. Their respective application
approvals were gifts from their corrupt ICANN pals, and they couldn't care less if
either TLD becomes any more popular than it already is.
If you don't agree, then
please explain the drought in advertising. Companies who want a successful
product generally attempt to promote their product, not sit on it.
