NeuLevel explains the fiasco. But doesn't fix the problem. There are many Registrars
participating in the new "round-robin" selection process. In some cases, these
Registrars have resellers that also offer registration services. Among these
resellers, there are several companies guaranteeing registration of domain names
in the new round-robin process.
Please be advised that no Registrar or reseller
can guarantee successful registration. Also, NeuLevel cannot regulate resellers'
activities.
During the round-robin process, the selection order of the Registrars
will be randomized, and the individual applications within each Registrar's queue
will be randomized. When a selection round reaches an application for a name
that has not yet been selected, that application will result in the registration
of the name. When a selection round reaches a name that has already been awarded,
that application and that Registrar will be skipped.
Because no preference will
be shown toward any particular Registrar during the round-robin process, no Registrar
can guarantee registration of a domain name.
And because the randomization is
based on the individual Registrars and their queues, no reseller can guarantee registration.
A
list of participating Registrars is available at, http://www.neulevel.biz/faqs/distr_methods_faqs.html
