management of the .info Sunrise and Landrush 1, not just their handling of place
name distribution. Shambolic but profitable - sell millions of Landrush preregistrations
over a period of months, which never get submitted to the Landrush 1 round robin,
because the ineptitude of those who run ICANN and Afilias results in the Sunrise
registration of 10,000 ineligible Sunrise names.
No one listened to DomeBase who
had an equitable sulution to the fiasco of Sunrise/Landrush 1, so now the original
Landrushers, if they have any money left, have to pay the registrars again for a
chance at the 10,000.
Sell preregistrations to a name in Landrush 1. Sell
preregistrations to the same names to those prepared to falsify TM registrations
in the Sunrise. Then sell preregistrations to the same names in Landrush 2.
I would call that scambolic as well as shambolic.
I can't see why the internet
community should expect a fair shake from the registries and the flim flam registrars
while those responsible for the .info launch retain their positions of trust and
authority.
Oh well, the inglorious story of the .info launch and the roles of the
principals of ICANN and Afilias Ltd. will make interesting reading in the MBA and
MTM set texts and class notes.
