Non-ICANN Approved TLDs |

I'm worried
about what ICANN will do when it attempts to add a TLD which someone has already
set up through an alternate DNS. Say someone sets up an alternate DNS server for
unions at .union . They use this to communicate with other union leaders who are
encouraged to use their DNS servers which contain all TLDs plus their own unique
.union . What if ICANN decides that it wants .union as an addition? What steps could
ICANN take to resolve such a situation?
