I think there is universal aggreement that .com is too
cluttered and far too wide
in scope. The current .com domain is supposed to take care of
international
(and in the US, inter-state) domains of
any sort. Unfortunately the .int and .us
domains does not
function very well.
Since commerce follows free-trade areas;
.eu should be a welcome
replacement for part of .com. We should not stop there
though.
A restructuring of .us (so you could register e.g. corporation.us,
and
not have to pinpoint your location to the county level).
I second the idea of an
.eu domain; but this idea could be used
e.g. as continent-wide domains.
