I want to speak in contrary to some voices calling for a stop to this discussion.
Yes, there are millions of sites, noone ever knowing what he'll see next, and where
to find what, but that's exactly why it makes sense to sort them into categories.
If there are 400 TV-Channels, why not put them all into .tv, and make a list or an
own search-engine for this TLD.
As it is used in the structure of the newsgroups,
it could be a way for sorting out homepages, too. I would prefer to find a site in
the category montypython.humor.movies than in www.montysblablup.comIt's a step
for our own good - if you do not like it, then simply do not use it.
