If global brands could have and manage their own TLD, it could be used to minimise intellectual property disputes - Coca Cola could turn around and say "if it's not .coke it's not the real thing!" thus leaving 'cokebottle.co.jp' for the proud collector of coke bottles to display his collection on the web without fear of litigation - It's hopeful I know but I have faith that the board has the strength to do this.
