Subject: The sticky subject of preregistrations

To be honest, I think all preregistrations should be done away with. This issue has been heavily debated on both sides already and I honestly don't think I can come up with anything additional to add, nor do I wish to create another thread of flames and insults.

For the sake of discussion...

What about the CORE preregistrations of .web, .shop, .firm, etc.?

What about the 1 million (claimed) .web registrations from the Dot WEB Registry Pte Ltd? (http://www.icann.org/yokohama/EOI6.htm).

I've been looking back through ICANN and DNSO archives of forums and mailinglists and from some of your own posts you said you are aware that the preregistrations may not stand and you said you were willing to accept that.

I guess we'll know the decision re: all this soon enough.
