From the time of the creation of TLDs onwards, owners
of personal websites have had no appropriate domain in which to register themselves.Owners
of such websites, which are usually non-commercial, non-network related and not limited
in relevance to one country only had long felt that the .org TLD fitted them best,
and were justified when the restrictions on registration for such domains were lifted.
Any
re-introduction of these restrictions would destroy a large investment by private
individuals in improving the Internet's content.
