I am not a "legally registered" "non-profit organization". I do however, provide
web space and email accounts under my domain name to various people, and have been
doing so for a few years. My "presence" at my domain is not particularly large
when compared to the rest of the internet; it is, on the other hand, reliable.
I do not treat my web space and email accounts as disposable; I do not change email
address at the drop of a hat. I have held my current email address for 3 years,
and the one before that for 4 years. I, and the other people who I provide
services to, have a respectable history of "always being there".
I registered my
.org domain after reading the historical rules, despite knowing that they were largely
ignored. I determined that for a personal domain, .org was the appropriate
choice.
I do not support placing restrictions any tighter than the original intend
upon .org
