ICANN: "Greetings Gentleman!"
ICANN: "All your .org are belong to us!"My message
to ICANN: Check the RFC for .org -- it EXPLICITLY states that it was to be a clearinghouse
for domains that didn't fit elsewhere.
My suggestions:
Create .np or .npo for
"official" non-profit organizations.
Create .biz to add new corporate sites
Create
.web for new personal/non-catagorized sites
Create .oss for the Open Source community
Let
NPO status reign in .np/.npo
Let trademark reign in .biz
Let non-commercial
entities (users groups, etc...) reign in .web
Let .oss allow those of us who develop
TRULY free software have a home.
