My .org site is used as a non-profit community service. I did not
register
it in .com space becuase it is not a commercial site and
never will be.
When I registered for my domain it was NOT required
to provide any proof or credentials
of my non-commercial status.I have no need to go through the process and lay out
the money
to incorporate just to have a .org domain name. This should at
least not apply to existing registrations. People who already
have
.org's should be grandfathered in. I will support
a requirement that future
.org's be at least not used for commercial
purposes. Such examples are commercial
companies that register
their name in every possible TLD. This is an abuse
of the system and
should be stopped.
Don't arbitrarliy take away existing domain
names becuase the
policy was not enforced properly if ever there was a policy.
This is
not the fault of the registrants and they have a right to keep their
domain
names working.
