I also assumed that these forums were of little real
value (and, unfortunately, "less literate" responses help decrease the odds these
comment forums will be taken seriously by anybody -- that's not a comment about the
post to which I'm replying, it's a general impression). This is key: "Even
if this proposed amendment is approved by the ICANN Board, it also requires approval
by the US Department of Commerce..." This means that interested parties MUST
lobby directly with the Department of Commerce, and (for those in the US) also with
their various elected officials in government, rather than trying to get any resolution
from ICANN. The latter should not be assumed to be reasonably likely.
