Oh I agree with your statements about trademarks to an extent. I
would understand
why ICANN would want to protect .org's like nike.org,
mcdonalds.org, walmart.org,
etc. That was my point. I own ( well at
least for the time being ) wiles.org which
is my last name and can see
no reason why this would interfere with any non-profit
organization. I
haven't seen World Internet Lottery Enterers Societies or some
such,
nor would I suspect one to arise and challenge me for my domain. :)
