I must protest most strongly at the intent to 'return'
.org to purely non-profit organizations. It was never thus. The org TLD was used
for domains that didn't fit into any of the fairly well-defined other TLDs -- com,
net, edu, gov. I'm surprised that ICANN seems to lack familiarity with the relevant
RFC. Those of us who actually obeyed the original TLD guidelines (I'm not a commercial
entity, not a network provider, not an educational establishment, not the government)
are now going to be penalized by having our domain names taken away. This is outrageous.
The ICANN appears to be intent on turning the Internet into a vehicle for commerce
and nothing more.
