If anyone needed evidence that having the same registrar running the root as well
as the top level domains, here you have it. NSI is unilaterally and retroactively
changing the rules with ICANN being nothing more than a rubber stamp for their actions.
All this will do is "churn" the domain registry, cost an immense amount in lost opportunities,
and make more money for NSI by forcing people to register new domains under .COM,
*even if they are not commercial entities*. If NSI wants to run the root, then
they should give up all of their TLDs. If they want to run .COM, then they should
give up the root.
