I can't believe that this is even being considered! I happened across the news
on someone's website, and the thought of losing my personal domain, as well as two
other project domains, is terrible. As another user of this forum (friedrich)
points out, the original definition of .org never restricted it to non-profit organizations
in the first place -- saying that restricting them now would be going back to the
original intent is misguided at best. I quote from his message here:In 1994,
RFC1591 described the domains which fall under .org:
ORG - This domain
is intended as the miscellaneous TLD for
organizations
that didn't fit anywhere else. Some non-
government
organizations may fit here.

Don't
take away my .orgs! I've spent the last three years building them. Losing
them now would be like getting kicked out of my own house.
