While I am not sure of all that is going on, I understand
that Verisign/NetworkSolutions/GreatDomains are trying to change the conditions for
the registration of .orgs so that only charities can use them. But what about these...please
correct me if I am wrong in any of this, but to the best of my knowledge these are
all true:
- Versign owns GreatDomains.com
- Versign owns NetworkSolutions
-
GreatDomains.com launch a sale in early 2001
- The names for this sale comprised
names which Network Solutions "held on to" as a result of non-payment of domains
-
the names were sold for a profit of $70 each
- this is $35 above normal Network
Solutions cost
- the names were marketed to brand creators/domain investors via
GreatDomains.com
- The sale includes many, many .Org domains...
...I even bought
a .Org at the sale myself!!
I want my money back if they restrict the access to
.org's!!!
Is that too much to ask? Surely Not!
Surely it is unfair of the people
who marketed the name to me, to take my name off me which I bought in good faith
from them!
