It seems there is a mountain of evidence to prove that
Verisign has not been acting in good faith in maintaining the registry since the
market has become competitive. Although both the internet and its community of users
have grown and changed dramatically over the past several years, Verisign has not.
They are completely oblivious to the needs of the internet community and have made
no attempt to streamline or innovate the processes of registering, transferring and
modifying domain names. They fail to cooperate with other registrars and often take
upwards of 6 months to clear the registry of expired domains. As it stands, the domain
registry infrastructure is so cluttered with red-tape, confusion and archaic protocols
that it is inaccessible to the average internet user. If Verisign is allowed to maintain
their monopoly, we can only look forward to more of the same.
