It is a common misconception, when you say that TLDs are in competition.

Why have all these ccTLDs at all then?

Why not just have .com and be done with it?

The fact is - they are ALL different.

We should have many more - so that in recent conflict Nissan Cars can have nissan.car (nissan.com has gone to Mr Nissan and his computer business).

All trademarks should be issued with a .REG also, as certificate of authentication.

Organizations, by their very nature, are diverse and so should the TLD be. Therefore, .ORG should stay as it is.

It is ICANN that wants restricted TLD for NPOs - therefore it makes best sense to create one for them (as certificate of authentication), allowing NPO to keep its .ORG for marketing as well.

Either logic and common sense have passed ICANN by - OR they use spin and lies to steal peoples domains from them. I believe the latter.
