It was very disappointing to see how weak the members
of the ICANN board was when deciding on new gTLDs. It seemed very much like the members
of the board was not taking an active interest in the questions and decisions. Instead
it was Lois Touton (!) who ran the show and almost pointed out to the board what
to decide. (He obviously got a bit irritated when someone on the board opened his/her
mouth so that Touton had to change "his" basket.)WHY DIDN'T THE MEMBERS OF THE
BOARD TAKE THE CONTROL OVER THE PROCESS? THEY WERE JUST FOLLOWING. THEY WERE WEAK!
Vint Cerf was almost the only one who tried. He could have needed some support
from the other ones (were they sleeping?). Even if they didn't agree they could have
perticipated in the discussion.
