Dear ICANN .org Evaluation Team,
RE: ISOC SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTION NO.7
With reference
to the ISOC response to supplemental question NO.7. I would like to address some
of these comments as they contain inaccuracies.
Documentation in reference to AusRegistry’s alleged
allegation that “Afilias played no role whatsoever in the planning or
implementation of the transition to the new Registry in .au” is incorrect.
This statement was not made by AusRegistry.
The following is an extract from comments on .org Preliminary Evaluation
Report from Unity Registry, Part 3 - Section 9: Transition Considerations-
“Afilias did not and could never have
reasonably assumed they would be conducting the transition process nor did they
supervise it. The Afilias involvement
was contracted and limited to evaluation, testing and auditing of systems,
standards and loads prior to the actual transition”
These comments are completely correct and
careful analysis of the Afilias supporting documentation supports this
statement. We note also that the supporting documentation specifically relates
the planning and development of the .au registry systems – not transition of existing .au registry
data.
As stated previously in our comments to the ICANN evaluation
committee, AusRegistry personnel conducted the data transition planning and
implementation in its entirety. A chart outlining the process has been attached
with this letter.
Please let me know if you would like clarification on any further
issues.

Simon Delzoppo
