U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell praises the .Org Foundation's bid |

| In a recent letter to Donald L. Evans, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, U.S. Senator Maria
Cantwell gave the .Org Foundation's bid for the .org registry high praise. "The
.Org Foundation indicates that it will provide a public forum for nonprofits to address
needs and concerns regarding the exisiting digital divide and to identify steps that
can be taken to increase the non-profit community's access to Internet technology.
The Foundation will provide Internet-based tools to support .org community members
in pursuit of the missions. And, most importantly, the .Org Foundation will reinvest
in the non-profit community by facilitating grants for specific technology tools
and projects. I am pleased that an organization in my state is offering to manage
the .org domain in this manner."
