DotOrg Foundation Garners Support For Validating Noncommercial .Orgs

Washington, D.C. - August 2, 2002 - The roster of support is growing for the validation concepts the DotOrg Foundation has proposed to ICANN in its bid to manage the global database of Internet addresses for noncommercial entities.  The DotOrg Foundation, a nonprofit organization partnering with Registry Advantage, a division of Register.com Inc. (NASDAQ: RCOM) and Kintera Inc., an online solutions provider for nonprofits, proposes to provide proactive outreach, validation and sophisticated technology to expand the .org domain.

The latest letters of support for the Foundation's concepts are from key nonprofit sector, Internet industry and general business organizations:

* Independent Sector, a national leadership forum to encourage philanthropy, volunteering, not-for-profit initiative and citizen action

* Canada's third sector thought leader, CanadaHelps, a nonprofit organization designed to facilitate the transfer of technology to Canada's 78,000+ charities

* GuideStar, with a national database of over 850,000 IRS-recognized nonprofit organizations to revolutionize philanthropy and nonprofit practice with information

* Former Science Advisor to U.S. President and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology, Edward E. David, Jr.

* Habitat for Humanity Canada, an independent, charitable, faith-based housing program

* Ubizen, the principal provider of managed security solutions for global businesses
