IIFOR is an NGO of 40 consultants active in developing countries and countries
in transition. It gives training to governmental organisations and private sectors.With
this letter, we are recommending the ICANN board to choose Unity Registry for managing
the .org registry.
Through its experience with the management of .coop registry
and the taking over of the .au and second level domain related to it, Unity Registry
has proven that it has the technical and financial capacity, as well as the necessary
know-how to run this TLD registry.
Furthermore, their proposition for creating
a cooperative of non profits, accessible to all interested organisations, shows a
true willingness to respond to the needs of this community, which is diversified
in size, sector of activities and geographical area. This is strengthened by the
fact that Poptel, one of the partners, has always maintained a privileged relationship
with non-profit organisations which constitute the majority of its customers.
We
are interested in joining this cooperative, the only structure among those proposed,
which allow the participation of those who are interested in the .org community.
