Hello ICANN and Forum Readers,If ICANN generates $500
more revenue annually per registrar for each new gTLD approved in the future, this
will be incentive for the cash-strapped ICANN to continue adding more and more gTLD's,
until the myriad of gTLD's becomes counter-productive for the intended purpose of
making Internet addressing and access easier (than dotted.decimal addressing).
Establishing
a lump-sum blanket fee for Fixed Accreditation Fees, which will allow registrars
to register ALL approved gTLD's without additional cost, will assure widespread availability
of each gTLD to end-users and will still generate revenue for ICANN, but without
a revenue-based incentive for ICANN to add more new gTLD's.
When there are 50 or
more gTLD's in existence, where are you going to find a registrar willing to register
your new ".museum" domain name?
