I would like to comment that there should be no difference for the nominees from
the at large membership and any other nominee. I can see no reason why this distinction
should exist.
Also the two countries rule seems to lead to an uneven distribution.
Maybe it would be fairer to set a proportion of the countries for an area. Perhaps
weighted in some way by the population of those countries.
Finally maybe all of
the nominees should be given a web page where they can post a text of agreed length
stating why they should be a elected. This coupled with a forum for answering questions
rather than e-mail would make the presentations equal and transparent.
