Subject: Self-nomination hoops and red tape

My, my, the deck sure seems to be stacked pretty good here -- folks
who want to self-nominate have to jump through hoops and red tape,
whereas folks who are nominated by the Nomination Committee don't.
Doesn't sound very democratic to me.

Why not make /all/ candidates -- even the ones nominated by the
Nominating Committee, yes, especially them -- jump through the
/same/ hoops and fulfill the same requirements?
