"This is definitely a tricky problem: how to give
members access to candidate information, without subjecting them to spam. My
suggestion will be to post candidate information on the ICANN website (one page per
candidate, with background information and responses to specific questions), and
to send a periodic reminder from ICANN to the At Large members, reminding them to
review the posted information prior to voting. Your
suggestion is an addition to that plan: to make an email mailing of candidates'
position statements. I wonder if anyone else thinks this would be a good idea?" I,
for one, do not. The website is quite enough ... it is up to the individual
voters to make use of it. Let's not waste Internet e-mail resources hustling
folks to do what they have volunteered to do in the first place. Voting is
a privilege and a *responsibility*.
