Subject: Support for the policies of Affinity/bizTRAC Application

Message:

I wish to express my support for the policies
detailed in the Affinity Internet/ bizTRAC .biz TLD
application.

I believe that the pre-screening of applications and
the associated registration price is an appropriate way to ensure
that only those who are actually doing business, or
those who have firm intentions to engage in business,
will be assigned names in this top-level domain. I
also agree with Affinity  that if their proposal
is implemented, we can expect that it may well
reduce the problem of domain name
hoarding and speculation throughout the Internet.

The applicants have asked us to participate in
bizTRAC, which will be the regulatory body for the
.biz domain. If their application is successful we
envisage that we may well be able to provide a delegate to this
organization.

The CBI is the premier organization speaking for
companies in the UK, representing every sector of
business.  Our direct corporate membership employs
over four million and our trade association membership
represents over six million of the workforce.  We thus have a
significant
interest in the future of the Internet.
