ICANN posted the DNSO
warning about "pre-registrations", on Sept. 29, without exempting IOD registrations
from that warning. Therefore, ICANN effectively discouraged potential registrants
from buying .WEB names through IOD. Now ICANN points to the fact that IOD only
has 20,000 registrations, using that fact against IOD. So on one hand, ICANN
points to IOD's 20,000+ registrations as "premature", then implies that if IOD had
more registrations, IOD's viability would be greater. Huh?Also of great
interest is an article posted at www.icbtollfree.com: "11/10/2000- - ICANN POSTS
ITS 'STAFF REPORT' ON NEW TLD'S Stage dressing for deals already done, it holds
few surprises but is entertaining nonetheless." READ IT!
