I'm sitting in Shanghai at 4:50 am reading this forum and am stunned at ICANN's narrow minds.  I can't believe how similar it is to reading a report from the Chinese Government that grants valuable rights to a friend of the Minister and ignores everyone else. The relationship between Afilias and ICANN is what we call "guanxi" -gwan she - in China. You always want to do business with someone with good guanxi, because it means 'the fix is in'.  Sometimes it's just a trusted party, like fraternity. Other times there's hidden value moving under the table. ICANN seems to invite the comparison to Chinese government.
