These features are blatantly obvious in the ICANN report.
Why are they coming down so hard on IOD instead of helping them? They're trying
to let IOD supporters down preemptively. Why don't they highlight the complexities
of a conglomerate running a registry? There are certainly down sides to that.
I simply can't believe there was nothing wrong with the Afilias proposal. To
insinuate that IOD will fatally damage the .web reputation is outragous-particularly
in light of their efforts to the contrary. To state that "the small pool of talent
available to Image Online Design is a very serious deficiency" is slanderous.
To intimate that they will operate a "very large registry" with an operation that
is currently "very modest" is stated in a terribly condescending manner. The
comments of ICANN, although certainly better than none, have shown their true face.
I can already see the attorneys watching this board who are salivating over the shot
at pro bono efforts to launch into the limelight with this one.
