Our chances are better because even though ICANN thought that we had serious problems,
they still felt that we were worth making the "short list" as it were. Now that
those problems have been shown to be, in fact, based on errors and are not problems
at all, one can only presume that our application is stronger as a result.
Now
that ICANN sees that there are, in fact, no problems with our application (as every
deficiency identified in the staff report has been clarified), there is no reason
to not approve us, as we clearly represent competition (as opposed to Afilias, a
98% market holder) and NeuStar, with their application comprised of mostly obsolete
information).
I am more confident now than I have ever been, as there was always
a chance that we had a real problem with our application that would pose a serious
question about our capabilities. As it turns out, this isn't the case.
I'm glad
I could clear this up for you.
