I would have one more remark regarding the .travel TLD.
My personal opinion is that only IATA or agency authorized by IATA should be authorized
to register and issue a .travel domain to anyone interested in it. With this IATA
would actually set an "industry" standard - ie only highly respective tourism and
travel oriented sites (which apply under IATA standards) could actually get the .travel
domain extension. With that you would also eliminate all those sites, which are offering
suspicious kind of a "tourism" and .travel would with this become a guarantee for
a high quality service. Because I worked for 15 years in tourism and last
4 years in Internet business as well, I really feel that .travel TLD would make a
