Hello Steve,
ICANN wants TLDs to be to it, as diamonds are to DeBeers. DeBeers releases
the world's diamonds in a controlled manner to keep price and demand stabilized where
it wants them.
If it lets out too many, prices drop.
If it relinquishes control, money funnels through avenues other than them.
What DeBeers has going for it, and what ICANN has tried to emulate
but cannot; is total secrecy.
The absolute fact that
they blunder every time they open their mouths, and that they have to choice but
to continue opening their mouths, has led them down the path to potential ruination:
for them, not for web. (Good luck with indemnification)
If they think they can be Clinton, they cannot. They don't have Clinton's
underground army working for them.
Either they recognize
the road they are on and change paths: now; or they better hope and pray that they
get Clinton appointed judges all the time from now on.
Just my opinion of course.
Best wishes, Eliahu
