The concept of dot TV has irritated ICANN from day one. They never sanctioned it and they have no control over it. You are learning a lesson in who's who from ICANN. You are a victim of your own success and you are not alone. IODesign suffered the same abuse in the same tld report for their pioneering efforts.

To assume that "While ICANNs initial objective may have been to conduct a full, fair and open application and review process, in actuality, the process has been materially defective and has resulted in a denial of due process to the applicants." is insane.

This process was only about creating an image of open competition for new tld's, while all the while the decision were made. Afilias, the cartel, was created to bring protectionism to the top registars for any new general tld that will be issued, specifically dotweb.

ICANN will confirm this tommorrow when they award dotweb to Afilias.
Look out for the usual spin. "In the interest of stability.... " In the interest of internet users etc blah blah blah, we have decided to award dotweb to Afilias.

And to appease the companies who's proposals are being rejected they manage to shut them up by dangling a carrot in front of them in the promise that no application is being discarded and may be re-considered at a later date. Another words, keep your mouth shut if you ever want to do business with ICANN.

The tld report did what it was supposed to do; create doubt in the media and public arena about viable companies applying for the new tld's that wasn't associated with ICANN and Ken Stubss, and clear the path for an Afilias victory. Cartels like Afilias use the cloak of ICANN to stifle competition and protect market share. ICANN's mandate is clear; 1. to offer protectionism to established registars & 2. to offer protection to WIPO.
